Director of Religious Education John Buchanan
Assistant: Mary Lou MacDonald
Religious Education Classes: Sundays- September to May
Holy Redeemer's Religious Education Office has as its mission the passing on of the word of God, which was entrusted to the Catholic Church by our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is through teaching this divine Word, contained in both Sacred Scriptures and Sacred Tradition, that our religious education program assists parents, the leaders of the "domestic church," in their God-given responsibility of leading their children to life everlasting.
Religious Education is provided to children who do not receive religious instruction at day school. Children begin at age 4, moving up a grade each fall as they do in a weekday school. After 8th grade, teens join our High School CCD program. Adults take advantage of many faith opportunities throughout the school year. The Religious Education office is located in the school building, next to the library.

Taking Christ Seriously
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations...
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
Matthew 28:19-20
Who needs Religious Education?
We adore our Father. We revere our Mother. Which Father? Father Time? Or our Father Who art in heaven? Which Mother? Mother Earth? Or the Mother of God, Mary most holy?
We have lost much sureness about our faith - that "reason for the hope that is within us." In this age of uncertainty, we need to know who we are, Who loves us and Whom we serve. Authentic religious education in our Catholic faith solidifies our belief and quells our doubt. Since we are talking about eternity, is there any education more important? Come and see.

I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you.

Our Young Ones
Public school girls and boys from K though 12th Grade are learning the Good News of Our Redeemer each Sunday. High School students meet in a private home where they delve into Christ's hard truths and discover they are personally called to action. Our younger ones meet in the school building. The Holy Trinity, Scripture, Commandments, Beatitudes, and so much more - these wonders are opened up, studied and treasured by hungry hearts.
Our Adults
Realizing we "never outgrow our need for" growth, adults can take advantage of numerous chances to refresh their faith knowledge. Talks by parishioners and guest speakers, sacramental evenings, videos followed by discussion are offered. The parish bulletin publicizes these and more adult opportunities. Watch for them.
